In other crafting adventure news, I have recently completed my multi-coloured cowl! I am so excited! I used a ton of different yarns in sparkly and textured styles. I call this the avant-garde style of knitting. I don't use a lot of rhyme or reason, I just paint with the yarn and use the needles as my brush.

i never have an easy time getting a great photo of my knitted work. My camera isn't powerful enough to focus on all the tiny, sparkly details! However, these glimpses are better than nothing I suppose. I like that you can just slip the cowl over your head and not have to worry about losing your scarf. It also looks cute as a hood or dread wrap if you had dreads. more details:

Here is a very simple yet cozy scarflette that my mother knitted. It is good when you don't want too much. I added the big olive and fuschia colored buttons:

I have been thinking a lot about the desert recently. I really wish that I could go back to the desert and wander around in the Joshua Trees taking pictures like I used to be able to do when I lived in California. Here are some really beautiful pictures that I found on Flickr of the desert:

To me the desert has always equaled freedom.

this last one here is my favorite that I have taken out there....it reminds me of something from another world. And maybe that is why I like the desert so much. It makes me feel like I am somewhere far far away. Somewhere infinite.
